This year’s set from Merchante is the first to contain cards of NBA stars. From 1984 to 1985 the sponsors were CLESA (printed in red on the backs) and LETONA (printed in blue on the backs), so each card has two different variations, with the LETONA variation being less common. This year's set has two primary designs on the front; the first half of the set features exclusively European players and has the same base design as the 1984-85 set. The second half of the set includes a mix of NBA and Euro league stars, including a rookie card of Michael Jordan, with an action photo surrounded by a thin border of blue stars.
