Basketball was not a very popular game in Spain until in 1984 Spain won a Silver medal in the Los Angeles Olympic games. From that point, Basketball sprung interest among the youngest and kids were playing basketball anywhere possible and buying the new Albums and Magazines available in the market. Merchante was the first editor to understand this trend and released the first dedicated basketball album in 1984. From 1984 to 1985 the sponsors were CLESA and LETONA. This year's set features only European-league players, with two distinct designs for the fronts of the cards.
