1955 Kelloggs Pep Sports

Country of origin: Canada
Size: 3-1/4" x 2"

The images and info for this set have been shared with us from the collection of Retro Baloncesto. In 1955, Kellogg’s Pep cereal boxes included 8 cut-out cards on the back of the box. There were 4 sets: Indian Folklore, Canadian Army, Modern Airplanes, and Sports. Each set consisted of 16 cards, for a total of 64 cards in the complete set. There was an album that you could mail in for to store the cards in. You could also send your sets in to redeem prizes, so these cards are rather rare. The more well-known and common set is the 1948 Kellogg’s Pep cards which featured headshots of popular athletes. The 1955 Pep sports set has one basketball card, #C-12. The American Card Catalog (ACC) designation for this set is FC70-2.
