1903 Tetlow College Girls

Country of origin: United States
Size: 4” x 6”

This card has been shared with us from the collection of Retro Baloncesto. The one depicted in this image is believed to be a replica. This set consisted of four illustrated ‘trade cards’ distributed within packages of Tetlow Gossamer facial powder. The series depicted women playing a variety of sports for different colleges; basketball, fencing, rowing, and golf. It's postcard size and single-sided printing make it debatable whether or not it is considered a trading card, but many consider this to be the first basketball card of all time.
